That was my first thought as well. Welcome to the Sens little man. You're the future (with Cowen, Wiercioch and Lehner), might as well get 'er going.

Why? Although he can take 5 I guess, Schubert can...move aside.

It's a tryout number. Cant stand it.

65 I believe he wears because its the birth year of both his parents.

I believe he wore 6 for the World U-18, and I knew he wore 5 for the WJC, and 65 for Frolunda. In the case of the WJC, I think teams just didn't allow its players to wear big numbers - Hedman had 4 there, but was 41 for Modo, and Tavares had 19 and 20 the year before, although he wore 91 for Oshawa and will wear it for the Islanders.

I think 65's Karlsson's number.

move Schubert out and he can have 5, he can damn well have 5 anyway if Schubert stays, no one sees Schubert unless they pan to the bench.

That's if he's lucky enough to not be in the pressbox.

There's a "Help Wanted" sign at the German Town sandwich and gift shop.

I wonder what his benefits would be like for a place like that, does he get two breaks?

I don't mind Karlsson wearing 65. Gives him something to shoot for (point total).

And yeah, high numbers are associated with tryouts, but there was this guy who wore 66 once. He wasn't too bad.

Oh yeah?

53: Brett McLean, Derek Morris, Joe Pavelski, "Red Light" Racicot ( Karlsson books a room at Chez Alfie - Page 2 812636 )
74: Jay McKee, Nick Tarnasky, T.J. Oshie, the younger Kostitsyn, and some guy named Paul Coffey (in Boston)
85: Petr Klima, Rostislav Olesz

But of course I'm not disagreeing with you. They are a bit odd.

Great site, by the way, to find all those numbers and other trivia:

I would originally pick 17, but Kuba has that, then Foligno has 71, so I would have to rethink a number completely, is 69 appropriate? Karlsson books a room at Chez Alfie - Page 2 668437

I dunno. Are you the kind of player that gets down low in the corners?
