I guess we won't hear The Name Dropper go on about Detroit retaining ALL the players they want and Scotty Bowmans influence and on and on right?

Or maybe he'll just say they didn't want Hudler anyway.

I'd hold off assuming this deal is 100% done until we see something a little more official. These Euro sources often seem to jump the gun. I wouldn't be shocked if this is more rumour than fact.

Hudler is scheduled to have an arbitration hearing sometime this month as well I believe, can't imagine he would jump before that? or would he?

Even if it does happen, they have so much talent that can easily fill in the gap left by him.

Oh, I thought it was a done deal. If there's still a chance, I'm guess Detroit tries a little harder now.

I was surprised to say the least.

maybe he ironed out a contract over there to put detroit in a situation where they have to give him more then they want for him to stay?

TSN has it up too. I don't think it's too much of a problem with guys like Abdelkader and Helm and Cleary milling around for permanent roster spots.

What a f'n liar!!!

"Chasing a report right now out of the Czech Republic. Talking to people closer to the situation it looks very possible. TheFourthPeriod.com is reporting that Hudler's Russian contract has an out clause and that the Wings and Hudler are still negotiating. I am not so sure that the Wings may be OK with losing Hudler given their extremely tight cap situation."

More like you're refreshing tsn.ca This guy really makes my blood boil.

Dobber's take:

"According to this report, Jiri Hudler has signed what is suspected to be a "safety contract" with Moscow Dynamo. The deal is for two years and Hudler will continue to negotiate with the Red Wings. This is a negotiating ploy, I have no doubt, but the risk is there that he could play in the KHL next season. I remember Zherdev used a similar ploy on the Blue Jackets a couple of years ago. This news comes on the heels of the KHL charging the NHL with poaching players for the recent signing of Joel Kwiatkowski by Atlanta, who had also signed a two year KHL deal."
