Still not sure if you are referring to avatars or underwear.

BTW - SF71 - Avatar might be a bit racy for younger/more sensitive/at work visitors. Personally, I have no issue, as long as one of the kids don't come running around the corner...

I was thinking the same thing Acrobat; but my eyes were certainly enjoying the show, if you will.

Perhaps the solution is in the settings - can you allow/block NSFW avatars on a user basis? Then when an avatar is chosen, just make sure it's rated appropriately by the avatar-holder (say, SF71). If I didn't want to see it, I could mark it "don't show NSFW", otherwise leave the checkbox blank.

This may be in the forum setup (remember doing that way back...?)

Alternatively, Adblock works, but having it marked "NSFW off" by default means that guests and new users aren't offended unless they choose to be. Or they are warped, like "Guy with a Moustache". (Can those just be marked "disturbing"?)

I'm not sure. I think as 'nice' of a avatar it is, and as much as I am pro-boobies, these kind of avatars might get a cameo from time to time, but should never be staples...

I'll check in the settings and see.

I figured that was just assumed around here for the most part.

I change once in a while. Back on HB I chenged quite frequently during the run to the SCF -- mostly them based, like different Pingu or other cartoon penguins for the Pens series, and so on. One was of a golf ball just about to drop into the cup but I added a Devils logo on it. I liked that one.

Anyhow, my current one is a Centurion Cylon from what used to be my favorite series -- Battlestar Galactica. Great the first two seasons, really downhill after that. It's coming to an end in a nother 2-3 weeks, so I have to change. Just not sure what my new favorite show is, since they keep getting canceled (Journeyman, Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone just recently). I think my current fave is Terminator, but they moved it to Friday nights -- it's not getting renewed.

Maybe I'll go with one of another favorite show that got canceled early -- Firefly. And Nathan Fillion (Firefly's captain) has a new show on now (premiered last night), so it feels right.

Over at another site there is an option to not display avatars. It saves on page load times (on that site I am also allowed to change the posts per page to a max of 50 -- it's fixed at 15 here, so loading the avatars doesn't take very long).

What I really don't like is how the avatars in old posts are always changed to the new one when you change. For those who change their avatars to commemorate some on-going event or just to express how they feel at a particular time, that really sucks.

good point Wprager.

Clutch, Heater and I will have a peek and see if anything can be remedied, because I too would like to keep my older posts' avatars intact for that period, assuming it's possible.

Oh, don't even get me started on shows, GOOD shows, being cancelled. I'm still UPSET about Firefly, but glad to see Adam Baldwin back in Chuck (surprisingly, Chuck is on the block as well it seems ARGH!!!)

Dirty Sexy Money, Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone (good show really), The War at Home (guilty pleasure of mine), the list goes on and on. and yet, these god-awful brain-numbing s**tfests like Bachelor, Survivor, Bret Michaels, etc... all continue to churn out the and people can't seem to get enough of it.

We need more Six Feet Under's and Dexter's IMHO.

I am duly impressed with the assets possessed by SF71's alluring avatar, however I know we have one female member already, this may detract from getting any more.

My avatar is of actor, Steve Coogan. Some of his more notable movies are 24hr Party People and Tristam Shandy. The character Coogan is playing in my avatar is Alan Partridge from, "I'm Alan Partridge". It's a hilarious British comedy that i'm a huge fan of. There are only two seasons worth of episodes but they're all gold. There'sactually another mock-tv variety show that "Alan Partridge" hosts that leads to the two seasons afterward.

I too liked that show and was disappointed to learn of its fate. Back in the day, there was this show "Get Real" that I really enjoyed but it only lasted one season, if that.

Another show that is no longer running, but had a pretty good run I think, was "Yes, Dear".

My faves these days are: Dexter, True Blood, Flight of the Conchords, Medium, CSI (though oh so annoying and predictable), Office, 30 Rock, Two and a Half Men, Corner Gas.... to name a few.

oh yeah, I forgot about Two and Half men...another guilty pleasure of mine.

CSI: NY seems to be the only one thus far that hasn't COMPLETELY entered the cheesy and constant one-liners and oh-so-predictable plot twists formula...YET. The CSI and CSI:Miami (don't even get me started on that one *shaking fist at David Caruso* How do you STILL FIND WORK?!?!?!) have completely lost it IMHO, which is sad because I got excited with the addition of a vet actor (Fishburne) but having watched 3-4 episodes, I'm not impressed.

I haven't watched Medium in a while to be honest (although I still have a crush on Patricia that started when I was 11 and saw her in Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and to see her naked in the incredible "Lost Highway", well, I was HOOKED) but it did show promise.
30 Rock is great and I've yet to get into True Blood, but I'll have the LOOOONG off-season to rent seasons and get caught up.

No one's mentioned Lost yet? Excellent writing and acting, even thought I think the story has gotten a little preposterous lately.

30 Rock has been really solid this season; The Office is up and down, which is a shame -- it used to be consistently better.

I don't think Corner Gas is on anymore, is it? I know there's daily reruns o Comedy.

True Blood is a great one for Vampire lovers.

I agree - P.A. is a fine looking woman.

I loathe David Carusso and his character, Felatio. I was so happy when I thought he was killed off, but that turned out to be yet another plot twist (boo).

I should have also said Flashpoint and Durham County (if it is returning) are also faves (Hugh Dillon!!!). I also watch 90210 (hehe) and ER (4 more episodes to go).

Never watched Lost, think it is a dumb premise.

Office is still funny to me, though some say it is becoming too soapy.

Corner Gas is still on, one or two seasons left though. Airs on CTV on Mondays.

haha! Yeah my wife is HUGE into ER, where I stopped watching after they killed off Anthony Edwards' character, that was the last straw for me.

4 episodes left and after each one, my wife gets more and more teary-eyed. I don't have the heart to completely ruin how they're going to end it. LOL
