seeing as how this will be Ottawa's first time as a true seller (or they had better be), I am really looking forward to next wednesday. I think that as a fan of hockey, it is a great day. Some teams change their look dramatically, some make minor tweaks, but it's a lot of fun to speculate on the trades, or the effects that these trades make on each team. Love it!

Some facts heading into the one week mark:

Will we see similar #'s this year, more, or less in part due to the economy?

The Gaborik sweepstakes, although perhaps not as interesting in terms of the deadline, should be absolutely fascinating in the off-season IMO.

I think GMs are going to try to give him as little as possible because of the injury risk he is.

On the other hand, he'll want as much as possible because of the injury risk he is (ie. to ensure that if he has a career ending injury, he's still good to go).

i'd like to see gabby stay put exactly for the reason he's been injured. any team trading for him will want a signed contract( a small one at that, since all the injuries). good luck minni, you should of traded him last summer.

TSN is definitely the best network for any deadline day coverage, am doubting though I will be able to get any live streaming at work, they block that stuff saying it is lagging on the network, sheesh, got to tell people to stop working. I don't have a cell, and even if, still not paying the outrageous text fees. Will be hanging out with you all fielding the updates as they come in, then have tsn in the background and wearing out that F5 key.

This is going to be one exciting day for GMHockey.com. I suspect we'll break a few records tomorrow for page loads, topic and message posts and maybe even most ever online.
