Brodeur has been the franchise for the last 15 or so years. he has been there for every cup, and has backstopped them to numerous winning seasons. Kirk Mueller is a close second, and Stevens is a distant third.

Muller was the captain and leader of that team before they were good.TeamRenzo wrote:Tukker wrote:Brodeur has been the franchise for the last 15 or so years. he has been there for every cup, and has backstopped them to numerous winning seasons. Brodeur is #1 without question or debate
Stevens would have to be #2, Muller isn't even close

Edit: The more I think about it Brodeur does seem to be the logical choice. I will still stick with Stevens though.

From my husband who was and still is a huge Devils fan.
Brodeur is the most logical and popular choice, but consider that the devils had Brodeur playing for them and still have him playing without success. It took players like Stevens to bring the intensity and leadership it takes to win championships.
While no one will get an arguement from me about Brodeur being the biggest impact, it's my opinion that without Stevens on that team, the Devils would never have got close to winning a Cup.
