Who would you pick 2nd overall?

He's certainly not getting drafted over Hedman.

The more I talk about this guy, coupled with the Sens struggling, the more I -- deep down inside -- want to tank to get this guy. He could be a cornerstone of our D for the next decade+ with Weircioch, Karlsson, Volchenkov, Picard and Lee.

Problem with tavares is there are players like him every year in the draft. Young Dmens look just more special to me, I dont know may be it's just personal but I'm seriously not amazed by young forwards.

Hedman's the reason that I no longer get upset when we lose. Of course, if we continue to suck, finish last and end up without the number one pick, I'm going to lose my mind.

What if our pick IS the first overall pick. It's very possible at this point....I'm just saying is all....

Exactly.

It's no guarantee that Hedman goes first overall. Tavares is the real deal. It comes down to, who does a team want? Bobby Orr or Wayne Gretzky (not really, don't blast me now, but you get the idea).

It should be.

The only reason he wouldn't is if a team like NYI or Atlanta that is desperate for offence/a centreman take him first over-all.

As far as prospects go, Hedman is by far tops in this draft. Tavares is a lot closer to guys like MSP or Schenn than he is to Hedman IMO.

I don't even think he's the best Canadian forward prospect (albiet he is in this draft). I think I would rather have Hall than Tavares.

Coming from someone who has asked around the league, it is a no brainer, the #1 pick overall in the entire draft is Tavares.

Like I said, it's all in who you ask, and who is picking. There's no wrong choice.
