Hard to see Parker Kelly not in the lineup as a regular next season. He had an excellent first showing and was all over the ice. Unfortunately I can't say the same for L. Brown who appeared to be unable to keep up with the pace of play and holding his stick a little too tight. If he's fighting Pinto for the 2C spot he hasn't got a chance, which makes his totally expendable IMO.

More importantly the Leafs look 100% beatable. If the Habs play to their potential they can totally beat them

Ottawa has a great group of young players and are in a great position regarding the salary cap and the expansion draft. Also, they should hopefully be entering their prime when the other teams in our division are falling off a bit. Everything looks good.

EXCEPT, of course, our owner's ability to actually afford to pay these guys. It's been nice not having any Eugene stories for a few months...but we're gonna find out over the next couple of years if he actually has the means to build a contender.

Logan Brown is done here. Not entirely his fault, but it just ain't gonna work out here for him.

More importantly, yeah, the Leafs do look beatable. I think the Habs have been sparked a little bit by Caufield, who looks great. Is Price injured? I see Primeau started their game last night vs the Oilers. If the Habs get great goaltending, they can take the Leafs. They're still gonna be massive underdogs though.

Brown will get another few games in Belleville and I'm pretty sure a 1 year *final* extension. Don't tell me he can't do better than Tierney.

Different players, different roles. If Brown ain't producing offense, he's useless. I'm willing to bet good money that he's done with the Senators org after this season.

It’s one game. A bit different then replicating it over a stretch.

I think he had a good showing but he did put it all out there knowing it was his opportunity.
Could be a call up next season though.

Yeah, can’t see how Brown sticks around. If anything it’s gotten to be a mental hang up for him and this org. Probably would do better with a brand new start. Won’t get much for him though, basically a gamble for any other team and a throw in for us in a trade.

Euge involved in another law suit. Two of them (he's not the plaintiff in either one but he *is* the story). The reporter must have had a standing search for "Melnyk" in any legal proceedings. That's ambulance chasing, imo.

That's a good deal. A good find by the team and he made the most of it.

I just said yesterday how it's been nice that he hasn't been in the news in a while and HERE WE GO AGAIN.

You say two lawsuits, but I think it's just the one. Much like Melnyk suing a casino over his gambling debts, or suing a company over the custody of his jet, or whatever, this is just another bad look. Like those other stories, I imagine this one will just fade into the background eventually. Melnyk's mom is one of the two listed plaintiffs in this lawsuit.

Totally hilarious that they wrote nice things in the guest logbook and then turned around and sued them. Yeesh.

This all brought to you by the man that had Belleville delay his Belleville Senators rent payments this year so they wouldn't incur financial hardship.

Great find and signing with Zub. Too bad Hogberg won't fit into the goaltending plans, but so be it. I bid thee Hogburglar farewell.

Right. One law suit, two plaintiffs.

How hilarious would it be if it was *Melnyk* himself who wrote the nice stuff (he's been trying to rehabilitate his reputation) and then his g/f and mom decided to do the suit. As far as I know Eugene is not mentioned in the suit as one of the parties.

Did anyone else immediately think of The Office: Booze Cruise episode when they read about the run-ins between Melnyk and the Captain?

I just had a thought. If the mom and g/f each sued for $5M, maybe Melnyk just hasn't filed yet. Although this happened in early January it was only filed last month. Maybe there's another shoe to drop.

By the way, I checked out the charter site and that $420K is the most expensive option for 12 people (you can go as low as $175K. But the Double Down (also $420K) looks to be the top one as it offers more cabins (9 vs. 7) and was built a decade earlier.

Those 50m+ yachts are insane. Imagine dropping $400K or whatever on a week vacation. And yes, this conjures major booze cruise Office episode flashbacks.

It sure doesn’t evoke any sympathy when he cries poor about this team.
