so Ward fired in cagary and they go ahead and hire Sutter. Again.

Maybe not a bad idea IMO. Guy is respected. both for his on-ice and coaching pedigree.

i look at Calgary and they need leadership they can respect. they also need to likely pierce a hole in the core of players they have to drive the message that, if they slack, they could be shipped out of there.

probably wont happen till the off season.

but barring a deep playoff run, there's a big trade coming before next season.

I can’t get the feeling out of my head that Eichel is part of the problem in Buffalo.
Talks that Krueger could get fired are weird to me. There’s something messed up with that group and it involves the leadership.
I think there’s a buyers beware on Eichel WHEN and not IF he gets moved.

Yeah, didn't Eichel essentially get Tim Murray fired?

For any of you interested, Lagoon contacted me to let me know that he accepted a job as an amateur scout with an NHL team. I won't reveal which team because I support the anonymity of this site, but I do find it encouraging to know that discussions we've had on this forum can lead to job opportunities, the development of professional networks, and in some cases frenemies.

Thought I would share the news.

Does that team know what he's been saying about Stützle?

If this is true then good for him! It’s not a bad thing for someone to go against the grain and have their own opinions. Scouts aren’t gonna ever agree 100% on anything and that helps growth as an evaluator.

I think so too. This site has seen some really contributors over the past decade. I recall Mark Christopher being a regular contributor at one point, I feel like maybe even Kevin Lee was here too? Would be nice to boost membership somehow.

Yes.

Sometimes I wonder if the people that were commenting 10 or more years ago still comment on other sites.

They're probably a part of "Sens Twitter" now. The internet can be such a hive of toxicity, it's kind of nice to have this place for rationale discussion.

looks like a series of fixes will be introduced to reduce the chaos of the present lottery.

starting this year only the top 2 spots will get picked via the lotery.
next year, a team will only be able to move up 10 spots (still too many if you ask me).
and no team can win the draft more than twice in a 5-year span.

I hope the sens don't win the lottery this year.

I imagine a team winning the lottery with another team's pick (ie our SJS pick last year) won't count in the calculous.

He was set to retire on April 24. Sens fans have been telling everyone for a decade how garbage Peel was at his job.

Best comments were the ones which essentially said that firing Tim Peel for admitting to make-up calls is a make-up call by the NHL.
