Gaborik wants to play in LA, but they don't have the players to make the trade happen.

So my only question is, from the orifice of which animal is he pulling this stuff??

Well, it could be true that Gaborik wants to play in LA, but LA is just unwilling to part with what Minnesota would want in return, therefor one would assume that Minnesota holds Gaborik in high value on them market.

And we all know he pulls these rumours out of Bert the Dog's anus.

I think Spector said it best in his recent blog.

There isn't a market for Gaborik right now as a) his cap hit is too high at this point in the season and b) he's a UFA next summer.

You could throw Bouwmeester in that boat too.

Good point. Only a matter of time before those rumours heat up.

How could LA not have the players? The have one of the best young teams and some nice prospects. Baffling.

I'm willing to bet that Gaborik wants to play anywhere that will play him a max (or close to it) deal. It's all about the money.

That is so wrong. He's got a messed up groin and seems to play 5 of every 10 games...the max is like 12 million dollars. If he gets that that'll mean some team was willing to pay him more than Heatley and Fisher combined - and he's not even as good as Heatley.

This guy reminds me of Havlat WAY too much for me to want Murray to even answer the phone.

Actually answer it, it might be about one of those goalies. :D

For sure. Surely he must realize that his value is lessened because he injury prone. Hard to argue his numbers though. He put up 42 goals last season whilst dealing with injury. Still not worth what he thinks he is though.

He's worth $7M MAX. He's not as good as Heatley, and he's injury prone. Hossa is a decent comparable, and I think that's what he's getting.

I think if he doesn't sign this year (before the cap numbers are released or, at least, known) he might find it a little more difficult to get $7M. Him not being worth it to begin with being only one reason.

If he could somehow grow a bionic abdomen and lower body, he's worth $7 per. Seeing as how he makes Mike Fisher look like Cal Ripken by comparison lessens his value. Apparently the Gaborik camp never got that memo.

Do you find it odd and maybe fishy that it leaked that he turned down a 10 year 80 million. I'm starting to think that was BS. I can't think of any GM in the league who would pony up 8 million a year on such a long term for a guy that's always injured.

It smells a little of a leaked BS rumour by Minny to ease the blow when they trade him. If he gets a penny over 7.5 I'm laughing at that team.
