"Blackhawks forward Adam Burish will undergo surgery for a torn ACL and will miss about six months, team physician Dr. Michael Terry said in a prepared statement today."

Huh...I usually don't put much stock in 'curses' and bad karma, but.... Ahhhhh!

Ouch. No Hossa, no Burrish. And I've got Huet in the pool.

Gee Shabbs, I didn't know you could get sports news from The Weather Channel.

It is in fact, cloudy (shades of gray apparently, by the way) in Chicago, 23 degrees at the moment, with a chance of showers and winds southeast at eight km per hour.

Now, about the hockey item in question...

Too bad about Burish. He’s turned into a solid PK man and agitator.

On the other hand, giving Colin Fraser and some of the kids a shot (like Skille, who has played very well in the two exhibition games so far) could turn out to be a net positive for the Blackhawks later on.

That signing of John Madden looks pretty good right now, as does that of Kopecky.

Just goes to show that depth is more important than ever.
