OK here's the quick and dirty on what this site offers.
Starting with the Banner - This is our current logo and if you click on it at anytime it brings you back to the main page. Below the banner is our list of main links. Forum - brings you to the main page. The little square with a 1 inside is the calendar where you can add events. Search - You can search for posts or topics in here, since there are almost 150 topics as of August 28th, 08 it can be useful.
Members - shows a list of all the GM Central members. Groups - Shows the groups that have been created by Admin, so far there is the Admin Group and the Members group which includes all GM Central Members. Profile - Here you can click this to update or modify your profile, Avatar, Signature etc... P.M. - This is used to send Private messages and to look in your inbox, if it is in blue with the words NEW PM that means someone has sent you a message and you just click on it to go to your inbox and read the message. Log out - Self explanatory, it's to log out.
NOTE: All these options will only be there if you are logged in.
Now onto the sides: from the top left corner we have the Rumour Mill - This block contains links written in GREY of sites with rumours.
Below that is [u]FUN & GAMES PLUS - Again in GREY are links of useful sites for things such as Fantasy Hockey, Fun games and NHL Draft info to name a few.
Below that is [u]NHL Scoreboard - Shows upcoming games, and you can click on previews, recaps, stats and you can even vote on what you expect the outcome of the game to be.
Below that is the Chat Room - The link is written in GREY This chat room is open 24/7 for ALL members. Below the open sign is a schedule that shows when the four Admin can be expected to be in the chat room. We may show up at other times as well and the schedule will be adjusted if we are unavailable for various reasons.
Below that is TOP POSTERS and then LATEST TOPICS - This is a list of the 5 most recently replied to or created topics.
The middle section is the Forum Categories and Forums. The Categories are written in Black and the Forums are written in GREY. When you click on a forum you'll find a list of topics and if you click on a topic you can reply to the posts or quote people that have already replied etc... If you want to create a topic yourself you can do so by entering a forum and clicking New Topic (New Topic is not available in This Just in, Rumour Chat or Blognalysis - ALL others are fair game) You need to put a subject and a message, you can also scroll down and choose to add a Poll to vote on as well.
Now onto the Right hand side. First we have a quick search function which allows you to search things on the site. Below that is GM Central's Blogs - There are two links here. One is for the Admin's Blog stories called GM Central Blog World. The second one is Member's blog which can be used by any forum member to write blogs. As a Forum member you are automatically registered for this site, you just need to login when you click on the link in order to be allowed to blog. Remember that you need to be in Member's blog (There's a link on the left in the blog page which will bring you to the correct site once you log in) You will remain logged in once you do it for the first time and will need to log out manually from the top of the blog page if you don't wish to remain logged in.
Below that is GM Hockey Shop online - If you click on this link, in GREY you will find items available for purchase with the Fighting Monatagoose written on them - So far there are T-shirts, Ball Caps and for those with babies you'll notice there are bibs available as well.
Below that is the section called POLL - Here is a place for the Admin to place Polls which have been generated by forum members. This section allows us to pull from the complete list of polls that have been generated and put a "feature" poll up for as little or as long as we want.
Below that comes Who’s online and where they’re chatting This section has a green link called Member Locator which brings you to a page with a google map and a list below that shows the names of who's online and what part of the forum they happen to be in at the time.
Next up is a counter which indicates the exact days, hours, minutes and seconds until the first regular season game in the NHL.
Next is the Calendar and if you click on the word Calendar it brings you to a page where you can see upcoming events and you can add events there as well.
Don't forget if you have questions you can always P.M. anyone of the three Admin - Cap'n' Clutch, Cronenbergfan, and 504Heater.
