Current Waiver standings and rules

Post by hemlock on Sat Sep 26, 2009 9:36 pm

Waivers Rules: Effective October 29, 2009, new rules concerning waivers have been put in place. Quite simply the rule is: ANY player who is not on an ELC, is subject to the waiver wire.
This means that anyone who isn't on their rookie deal, must clear
waivers.

Here is the waiver order.

01. New York Islanders
02. Tampa Bay Lightning
03. Colorado Avalance
04. Atlanta Thrashers
05. Los Angeles Kings
06. Phoenix Coyotes
07. Dallas Stars
08. Edmonton Oilers
09. Nashville Predators
10. Minnesota Wild
11. Buffalo Sabres
12. Florida Panthers
13. St. Louis Blues
14. Montreal Canadiens
15. New York Rangers
16. Calgary Flames
17. Philadelphia Flyers
18. New Jersey Devils
19. San Jose Sharks
20. Vancouver Canucks
21. Washington Capitals
22. Boston Bruins
23. Carolina Hurricanes
24. Chicago Blackhawks
25. Detroit Red Wings
26. Pittsburgh Penguins
27. Anaheim Ducks
28. Columbus Blue Jackets
29. Ottawa Senators
30. Toronto Maple Leafs

Should you want to waive or claim a player, please PM me with the title WAIVERS (in caps), so that I do not miss it please. I won't be held responsible should I miss a PM that isn't titled like that and you miss out on a player.

There is a 48 hour window to claim a player once I've made the addition to this thread. Each player will have it's own post and the results of the waiving will be edited into that post.

Teams at the top of the list get first shot at claiming someone (for the full cap hit), but once a team has claimed someone they automatically move down the list, so claim wisely!

Look in this post for the updated waiver order.

Since the season hasn't started yet, can we send players to the minors without waving them?

Only those on two way contracts. Any one way contract must clear waivers.

So I guess we arent necessarily following the complete nhl waiver rules where some players on 1 way contracts can be assigned to ahl without having to go through waivers because of age or games played.

It's all laid out in the rules and guidelines thread. There are restrictions, but it pertains to older players and whatnot.

EDIT: I've added the waiver rules to this first post in this thread.
