Deadline day approaching fast!

Post by Cronie on Tue Feb 24, 2009 3:26 pm

This is a formal call to all our GM Hockey faithful to let you know that March 4th will be a very crazy and entertaining day, as we all know, but to let you know that I (time permitting between work, which I hate doing) will be in chat and invite you ALL to come and join me and other members as we chat and analyse and anticipate the many trades and exciting transactions.

Hope to see you all there!

oh I will be there the entire day, am working 9 to 5 Atlantic time and you all will be sick of me by the time the buzzer sounds for the trades to be over. Should be an exciting day to say the least. Let's shatter some records for Cronie, Clutch, and Heater.

You know, they really should. It's like the World Juniors. NO ONE does ANY work if they are in the office from boxing day to New Year's day and such. EVERYONE is watching the Juniors on broadband or TV; and same thing with D-day. C'mon Heritage Minister (whoever it is) who are we kidding... Get it done already!

And by all means Sensfan, bring it on! Let's shatter our records! Who knows, maybe we'll finally be the first to break a trade?! LOL

Yeah, I better prepare all my work before hand, it's gonna be nuts. Or maybe it'll be boring, but I still have to staple my arse to the seat to watch.

What's your preferred network to tune into, Sportsnet, Score, or TSN?

Mine is TSN, but I've been known to flip to Sportsnet during breaks or slow periods to see if they have anything to break.

Wow, so 8 days, huh?

TSN FTW! It has always been the best coverage IMO!

seeing as how this will be Ottawa's first time as a true seller (or they had better be), I am really looking forward to next wednesday. I think that as a fan of hockey, it is a great day. Some teams change their look dramatically, some make minor tweaks, but it's a lot of fun to speculate on the trades, or the effects that these trades make on each team. Love it!

Some facts heading into the one week mark:

Will we see similar #'s this year, more, or less in part due to the economy?

The Gaborik sweepstakes, although perhaps not as interesting in terms of the deadline, should be absolutely fascinating in the off-season IMO.

I think GMs are going to try to give him as little as possible because of the injury risk he is.

On the other hand, he'll want as much as possible because of the injury risk he is (ie. to ensure that if he has a career ending injury, he's still good to go).
