No Gabo for them, though.

Indeed. What's his status?

I heard on the pre-game that he's resting a small "lower-body" injury so as not to aggravate it further.

He lasted longer than I thought he would. 'Tis a shame, he was doing very well so far in the Big Apple.

No good for Boston either.

But good for us.

Some firsts tonight:

First hattrick for Henrik Sedin

First goals for Schlemko, Tyler Ennis and Canadian WJC darling Matt Halischuk.

Tim Thomas made an incredible save against the Pens but Pittsburgh tied it with I believe under a second left. Geno had 3 assists in his return from injury.

Also, Mike Knuble broke his finger and will be out 3-4 weeks.

McGrattan got served last night by Colton Orr... he was cut up and bleeding like crazy. But the Flames had the last laugh with a 5-2 win.

Jason Demers gets his first NHL goal.

He now has more points than Spezza.

Patrick Marleau scores his 12th (more goals than Spezza has points) 43 seconds later. Ex-67 Joslin assists.

Sharks lead the 'Hawks 3-1.

Remember when we thought they'd be terrible and wouldn't have any depth?

As I type this, Danybag rings it off the iron.

How about Dan Rosen's Team Canada roster?

Other than maybe Marleau and Smyth, I wouldn't change a thing. Even then, you can't argue with putting them in there. I'd love to see Spezza make the team, given his vastly improved game, but somehow I think its a foregone conclusion that he won't be there.

Not too shabby.

Nobody's mentioning Brad Richards in this, but he's got 20 points, he's solid defensively and he's got a Conn Smythe to his name so you know he can show up in the clutch.

The Least Sens players in the Olympic the better. With some luck Chara, Markov, Kaberle, Ryan MIller etc all get injured in the tournament

Am I alone in thinking that we shouldn't send both Neids and Pronger to the Olympics?

We have so many talented younger, faster and equally strong d-men, that we are better off with taking only one of the two?

I dont think Doughty, Toews, or Carter will be there (especially Carter). In all honesty, I think Fisher is really going to make a case for himself if he keeps things up.

100% alone, especially on North American ice.

Yzerman said he will ice a few youngsters to prepare them for the next Olympics, so we might see a doughty in there.
Forwards corps is probably a non issue, as guys like Richards, Crosby, Toews, Nash etc are stil pretty young.
