I tallied up the few nominations we got in the GMH 09-10 Awards thread, and these are the leading vote getters.

Ryan Miller (BUF)
Craig Anderson (COL)
Martin Brodeur (NJ)
Henrik Sedin (VAN)
Daniel Alfredsson (OTT)
Alex Ovechkin (WAS)

You may vote for one of these players.

OV is the biggest factor in why the Caps are such an offensive juggernaut this year. THis guy's capacity to score is unparalleled.

I think I was the lone Alfie vote Razz The team is better with him, though same can be said for most of these guys. Can't argue that when Aflie came back and scored a hat-trick that it wasn't the definition of leadership.

I didn't see the other thread, but I wish Crosby was on this list. He has my vote this year for sure. The Penguins would not be in a playoff spot without him.

Also, I don't think Ovechkin should win it because his team would be just fine without him (by that I mean they would still win their division and be competitive). He's not as valuable this year as he has been in the previous seasons, IMO.

Yeah, too bad you and a bunch of others missed out on the nomination thread. I figured this would be a good time to narrow it down, seeing as how it's the Olympic break.

I think the most important thing to note here is that the Hart stands for Most Valuable Player. I take that to mean on a team basis- who is the most valuable player to their respective team.

That's why I voted Miller, because let's be honest, without Miller- Buffalo wouldn't be anywhere this year.

Ovechkin is without a doubt the best player in the game, but it helps that Washington also has Mike Green, Backstrom, Semin, etc.

I have to go with Miller on this one. Where would the Sabres be without him? I think he's goign to have a tough go at it in the playoffs, he's already showing signs of fatigue + he's playing for the U.S. It will be interesting to see where they fall when the "break" is over.
