They are separated so that each player has his own thread. That way I won't have to sift through an entire thread full of bids for various players to see who wins each bid. The same will happen for UFA.

Re: GM SIM GAME: Phil Kessel
Am I the only one who would feel dirty about making a bid (don't worry, I'm capped out and don't have interest)? I mean, clearly Ottawa made the move to acquire Kessel, shouldn't they be able to field a fair offer (and by fair we'll have to have a sub-committee etc.) and retain their player?
I apologize if this has been brought up, but I sure as heck wouldn't be bidding against Ottawa in fear of him bidding against one of my guys next year and so on and so forth.
Am I wrong?

Re: GM SIM GAME: Phil Kessel
Probably not, but I doubt Mark is getting outbid. There are very few teams that could make a bid anyway, due to picks.

Ottawa has matched this offer.

Really? Can't someone else offer Kessel a contract?

I thought that once Mark matched it was considered signed...i could be wrong though.

In the 'real world' for sure, but I thought there was a 48 hour period where offers could be submitted. I'll have to go back and (re) read the instructions.

Re: GM SIM GAME: Phil Kessel
while not to incourage people, but my 20 million in cap-space says kessel will be a sen or some team is going to need to dump serious cap, oh and don't forget about Dubinsky and Stafford

Re: GM SIM GAME: Phil Kessel
Mark can match the offer, but anyone can bid until the 48 hour period is up. Mark then has the option to match less 10% of the highest bid.
Like I said earlier, not many people have the picks to bid, much less can pay what Mark can.

Re: GM SIM GAME: Phil Kessel
I have close to 8 Million in cap space so if I wanted to I could bid high enough to stick Mark with a much higher cap hit than he'd like. I also still own all my picks. Of course it is a risky proposition if he decides to walk away and let me have him for 7+ Million per season.
