Can we mix these two together and make Kovalchoo or Cheevalev? Imagine if we could give some of Kovalev's abilities to Cheechoo? One can dream.
or some of Cheechoo's heart and grit to Kovalev?
HA HA! True.
For me, Kovalev follows the 80/20 rule... 80% of the games he'll do nothing, then for the other 20% he'll be outstanding.
As for who I'm most excited about, I think it's Michalek with Leclaire being a very close 2nd. Michalek is so exciting to watch and he should just continue to improve.

Cap'n Clutch wrote:Kovalev has been mildly disappointing in that I expected our PP to improve significantly with him out there. Other than that and only a slightly lower production than I expected from him I'm seeing what I thought I'd see from Kovalev. I had no expectations from Cheechoo so anything he gives is gravy to me. I have to wonder with only 2 assists and being a minus how he's still part of the top 6 though. I wonder if Clouston is expecting him to bust out with some goals soon?
Clouston said that exact thing yesterday. He expects Cheechoo to start to score any time now.

I LOVE Milan, but I have to say with all the issues we've had with goaltending here, I voted for Leclaire. Not since Hasek have I felt so comfortable with a goaltender. I don't freak out anymore when we lose the puck and there's a 3 on 1 coming down on us, I have faith that he will make that save and 9 times out of 10 he does. Thank goodness for Pascal! He will be the difference maker for us this year, I'm sure of it.

Michalek looks like an absolute giant next to Alfie and Shannon in that Avatar. Love having that guy on the team.

Re: POLL: Newly acquired Sens
Hmmm...no votes for Cheechoo or Kovalev yet? Interesting...
I have to say, I'm impressed with the way Cheechoo has played this year, he's had a few bad moments but not too many. He works all the time and like Michalek never gives up on a play. I still hold out hope that he will put it together and start producing this year, how can he not with the way he plays and the positions he gets himself into. The season is still very very very young, it'll come.
I can say almost the same about Kovalev, but I've seen him float around a lot. He needs to work on that part of his game, but he also creates a lot of chances and a lot of room for Alfie and Fisher. I believe he has some part in the points they have this year. Whether it shows on the scoresheet or not. I don't know if he's known for having slow starts to seasons or not, but he'll turn it around. I have faith. I'm excited about him this year. He will be the difference maker in quite a few of our games for sure. He needs to start producing on the powerplay though, he's one of the best in the league at it, so that will come soon too.

He's an extremely special player. I am very grateful to have him on our team. He brings an element that we have been missing for a long time here. Knowing what I know about him now, I would have done a Heatley for Michalek straight up swap, easily. He must be one of the hardest working players in the entire league. It didn't take long to realize what we got in him, I'm in love.

Paul Williams would look like a Giant next to "Del" Shannon.

I voted Milan, but it was close. I feel more and more comfortable with Leclaire as the season goes on. I'm looking forward to playing some games and having him settle into his groove.

Re: POLL: Newly acquired Sens
Tough question to say the least. I love Micalek though and the way he plays, but in the same breath LeClaire is amazing and a lot of fun to watch.
Kovalev adn Cheechoo frustrate me so far, but it's a long season.

Re: POLL: Newly acquired Sens
I've got a nickname for Michalek. 9 milimeter (mm). 9 for his number mm for his name = 9 milimeter which also works for his shooting abilities. Am I good or what?
