Buehrle pitches a perfect game

Post by shabbs on Fri Jul 24, 2009 6:49 am

Wow. Impressive. Not just a no-hitter... but a perfect game.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=290723104

No walks, no hits... 3 up and 3 down in every inning.

Very impressive.

And to boot... Wise had an unbelievable catch in the 9th over the wall preventing a home run and preserving the perfect game.

Historic.

Yep, #18 in MLB's history, I believe. But all I could think of saying was:

Beuhler? Beuhler? Anyone?

P.S. Yes, I know it's a different spelling.

Bad call by the play-by-play guy. Sounded a little gay...

There will never be a silkier perfect game call than: "El Presidente... El Perfecto".
