Was it ever really up for debate. EVERYONE knew what this was. It has never been about Karlsson, it's always been about the current Sens.

Tim Murray just said on 1200 that it was going to be a long, long time for Volchenkov. This is NOT short term.

Phillips - Carkner (He's the only Volchie-esque D man we have)

Kuba - Campoli

Picard - Lee (I got shivers and pangs of fear just writing that out)

Brian Lee? He and Phillips were good together IIRC. I'd put Karlsson right back on the plane to Ottawa right now - even though, I'm not confident he's ready for the NHL, it's time for him to be an Ottawa Senator.

Things change overnight. Brian Lee is an option, but Erik Karlsson is still a better player.

This is Lee's opportunity to step up, big time. Either that, or we'll be offering a guy like Shannon for a short-term solution on the backend before long.

By 'long time,' I hope you mean weeks and not months.
