Looking for a top centreman. I've got a number of sexy pieces I could be tempted to part with including Volchenkov, Okposo, Voracek, for the right deal.

One of Jake Allen and Jacob Markstrom must go. I'm looking for a N1 Defenseman.

Hemlock,

How is it that you have Volchenkov. I didn't think trades were allowed yet, or did I miss sometihng?

Trades are happening. They just aren't official until Sept 1.

It's crazy. Everybody has made trades already. Nothing is official, but they are completed trades. They will be official on September 1st.

Apparently not everyone lol. This was inevitable. It was unwise to has such a huge gap between the time we finished picking and the time we officially approve trades.

I know some guys were discussing trades as teams were being picked. No joke.

I have some trades "done" pending September 1st. These are all subject to no moves in the actual world that affect these players. Nothing is official and the trades will still need to be approved by the Commissioner.

Even if the "trades" were Dung-canned, as long as you track what you did, it can all be reversed.

Yeah they can be and will have to be. Those of us already making moves, understand that risk I hope.

Burns and Brunette and possibly Bouchard are on the table.

I'm looking for a top line Center and a top 4 OD and forward prospects.

Seriously guys, what is with some of you over valuing players and prospects?

I have a feeling some of you have never played NHL series, cause to think Avery is worth Ryan Parent and Dan Carcillo is laughable.

And as soon as someone whows interest in a prospect you likely have never heard of, you think his value is infinite because someone wants him? A prospect who is still in the OHL and likely a few years from the AHL/NHL isn't worth a whole lot until he is in the game, and even then, it all depends on rating and potential. Until then, if you're worried about the present, don't be looking for ridiculous returns.

Like arguing who win in the JVR-Schenn deal... I think that having a NHL defenceman whose rating is over 80 is more beneficial to me than a player NOT in the game, and whose rating is unknown.

Amazing post.

I have offered a bunch of deals for my Derek Roy. I ask for a lesser player, a prospect and a 1st. The reply comes back I wouldn't trade the prospect for Derek Roy straight up.

I am surprised so many deals have already happened.

I agree with your point Dash. And I guess if we were only playing one season, then you build only for the now.

You are quite right, especially in the JVR - Schenn deal. For right now, Schenn is far superior, only because he is actually playing and has a player OVR.

I did that trade and others based on the fact that we would be playing several seasons worth, and EA is pretty good about bringing the prospects into the game.

I am sure this year we will see Schenn, Stamkos, Doughty, Bogosian displayed on their teams, and most of them will likely have 80ish player ratings based on their last years statistics and projected potential.

I am playing to win down the road, not right now. Mr. Burke has seen to it that the Toronto Maple Leafs will not alow a lot of goals against, but has ensured that they will score none in return.
