Yeah, it's actually a lot long. It should have been 4.5 X 5 IMO.

Yeah, given the market, and economy, etc, I'd have pegged him at about 4x4 - by the end, he's going to look a lot better than he really is anyhow since he'll be playing beside Hedman, so any future deal will still be a lucrative one.

It basically is that. It's apparantly 22.5M for the first 5 years and 3M over the last two.

Economy, smish-schmonomy... This is a cap world, my friend. That .8M is HUGE! This is a much better signing with those two extra years, which are all too easy to get rid of.

Seriously. Ohlund, Mez, Ranger, Hedman is a really solid top-4 for a team with Lecavalier, St. Louis, Stamkos, Malone up front.
Assuming things work out alright for them and they don't suffer a ridiculous string of injuries, then we're looking a playoff team in Tampa in 09-10.
