From Lyle Richardson at SpectorsHockey...The former Sen, Blue, Av, Blackhawk, Flame, Flyer, Oiler and Islander is a Devil.

NORTHJERSEY.COM: reports the New Jersey Devils have signed UFA forward Dean McAmmond to a two-way, one year contract with an NHL salary of $500K.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: My thanks to everyone who sent this in. Rob Niedermayer being placed on injured reserve was likely the reason for this move.

I guess it depends on how fast they can get him on the roster... I would be surprised but you never know.

McAmmond was on the Devils' roster last night, listed as a healthy scratch.
