2010 FIFA World Cup - South Africa
The massive FIFA soccer tourney returns in 2010 and is being held in South Africa...
http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/index.html
All eyes will be watching as there are many many questions and concerns with regards to whether or not SA can pull this off properly.
I'm looking forward to this one, as my family is from South Africa so it will be dear to my heart for SA to put on a good show as both host and participant.

Nope. World Cup is in 2010 and the next Euro Cup is in 2012 - last one was 2008. Every four years for each.
Even numbered years... never a tourney on odd numbered years.

England play Angora tomorrow night at Wembley 8.15 kick off. Its a sell out selling 70,000 tickets.
If we win this one we are in the world cup for sure.
We are 7 points clear at the moment so this win will secure our place.
Come on England.

I can't wait to see the "new" young gunz. It has been a while since an avalanche of youngs great players has made the World cup.
I hope England has found a way to stop choking...
And please someone take Italia out of the Final 8...

There is the FIFA 2009 Confederations Cup in South Africa leading up to the World Cup:

Saw an ad for it on CBC so they'll have coverage.
