NORTHJERSEY.COM: reports the New Jersey Devils have signed UFA forward Dean McAmmond to a two-way, one year contract with an NHL salary of $500K.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: My thanks to everyone who sent this in. Rob Niedermayer being placed on injured reserve was likely the reason for this move.

GAME DAY: New Jersey Devils @ Ottawa Senators - 7:00pm EST - Sat. Nov. 7th, 2009

"Out vile Devil... back to hell with ya..."

The Ottawa Senators (7-4-2, 16 points, 2nd in the North East) welcome the New Jersey Devils (9-4-0, 18 points, 3rd in the Atlantic) to Scotiabank Place on Saturday night. The Devils will be playing their 2nd game in as many nights as they hosted the Islanders on Friday night. The Devils are sporting quite a few injured stars, but they are always a ...

The Ottawa Senators (6-4-2, 14 points, 2nd in the North East) welcome back the Tampa Bay Lightning (5-4-4, 14 points, 2nd in the South East) in what seems like the zillionth time we've played them this season.
So, I'm starting a new job Monday, but because we haven't got that second car yet I'll be riding the bus. It's under 10 minutes by car and I could probably bike it in about a half hour in warmer weather. So how bad could the bus ride be?

Well, for this particular local route (#160) the brains at OC Transpo decided *not* to have the usual one place where the route starts, another where it ends, with busses running between these two end-points, mostly following the same route on the way back. ...

Daniel Alfredsson has played in 945 regular season NHL games, collecting 938 points. At his current pace he will need another 48 games to reach the 1,000 milestone. That puts us about 2 games before the Olympics break. Who knows, perhaps the home game against the Wings on Saturday, February 13. Get tickets for your sweetheart as a Valentine's Day present and maybe you'll get lucky in more ways than the usual.

Lehner has reportedly earned the nick name... "Real Estate" because he's as big as a house.

I love it! That is hilarious. Lehner backstopped the Greyhounds to a 3-2 win over the 67's yesterday.

Leclaire's numbers aren't anywhere near tops in the league, but he's a very solid goalie - perhaps the most solid we've had here since Hasek. Michalek is Havlat all over again, but perhaps without the goal-scoring consistency - BUT - definitely with more of an overall game (PK, size, etc.). And if ...
